Get adjusted by a Doctor of Chiropractic for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Dr. Michael Day D.C. helps Chronic Fatigue, and Fibromyalgia sufferers in Long Beach, CA with a combined approach of chiropractic and functional nutrition and supplementation.
There is always a physical component to Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia. The nervous system is made of trillions of cells and they innervate every inch of your body. The trillions of cells join together to form tributaries of nerves that feed back to your spinal cord. and eventually up to the brain through pathways in the cord.
Physical trauma and pain can be the starting point for fatigue cases, for others, body pain follows the fatigue and get’s worse as the symptoms get more severe.
If your muscles and joints lose adequate mobility, become tight and spasmed, or inflamed they will send out stress signals to your brain and spinal cord at all times. This messaging is called nociception. I personally did not have body pain until my Chronic fatigue symptoms began, but as the first year passed, my neck and jaw pain, as well as headaches, had progressed into daily symptoms.
Chiropractic can be an integral adjunct for healing from debilitating fatigue and body pain. Adjustments restore proper balance in the body and down regulate the nociceptive pain signals we addressed above. It’s like resetting the fuse box of your body! See: Chiropractic Made Simple
I know it may be out of your paradigm to think that this could have such a profound effect, I had this same opinion when I first visited a chiropractor. The treatment had such a profound effect that I attended chiropractic school to immerse myself in the techniques that had helped me so much. I didn’t even know what chiropractic was when I went to my first appointment.
To heal from chronic pain and fatigue you have to think of the healing plan like a web of interconnected systems that are all out of balance to some degree.
Systems that need to be addressed
- Structural: joint, muscle, tendon, ligament
- Neurology/Brain (sympathetic/parasympathetic balance, neurotransmitters)
- Toxin accumulation/elimination
- Nutrient digestion
- Immune strength: (TH1, TH2 balance, and inflammation)
- Mitochondrial function
- Hormonal balance.
What’s amazing is the structural system interfaces with the neurological system, so with chiropractic we are manipulating the STRUCTURAL to access the NEUROLOGICAL. We have to “turn down the noise” of imbalance and pain to make a shift. Patient’s then start reporting renewed energy, decreased pain, and shock that they didn’t try chiropractic sooner!
